The Founder & Director of NPAC is Moulee who hails from an academically inclined family. She started learning Bharatanatyam at the Age of Six under the guidance of Smt. Shanthini Sivanesan of the renowned institution “Kala Bhavana” in Sri Lanka. She had performed several stage performances under the guidance of Kala Bhavana. The first arangetram of Moulee was performed at the age of 11.
Originally from Srilanka, her Passion towards this art brought her to South India. She joined the world renowned Dance School Kalakshetra to master the art of dance. She successfully completed her Diploma in Bharatanatyam from Kalakshetra in 1999 under the able guidance of Gurus Smt. Nirmala Nagaraj (I Year), Sri. Mohana Menon (II Year) and Smt. Shaly Vijayan (III & IV Years) respectively.
Having Sharpened and mastered the Dance skills with the help of Kalakshetra, she started performing in solo and group performances in India.
Moulee moved to New Jersey in 2004 and have been involved in training students in Canada for Dance performances on a yearly basis through her frequent travel to Canada. She has been instrumental in online training for students in Canada including Bharatanatyam Theory and Dance performance preparations which helps students ready for their Arangetram.
Moulee formed Natyalayam Performing Arts Center in 2010 for teaching Bharatanatyam in an effort to spread the authenticity and dedication to the tradition through Kalakshetra Style of Dance.
